Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the SpendSeer website and application (the "Service").

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Description of Service

SpendSeer provides tools for tracking, visualizing, and analyzing personal financial data entered by users.

SpendSeer is a personal financial tracking tool and does not provide financial, legal, tax, or investment advice.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account
• All activity under your account
• Ensuring that data you upload is lawful

Workspaces include two seats by default (you plus one additional user). You remain responsible for all activity under your account, including activity by any users you invite. Shared workspace data is accessible to all members of that workspace.

4. Subscription & Billing

SpendSeer operates on a subscription basis.

• Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled.
• You may cancel at any time through your account settings.
• Payments are processed securely by Stripe.

Refund Policy

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee for first-time subscriptions. To request a refund, contact [email protected] within 30 days of your initial payment.

Refunds are issued at our discretion and may not apply to subscription renewals.

5. API Access

The Service provides an API for personal automation and integrations. You may create personal access tokens to connect third-party tools.

• You are responsible for all use of your API tokens.
• We reserve the right to enforce rate limits, throttle, or restrict API usage to maintain service reliability.
• We may revoke tokens or suspend API access for abuse or violations of these Terms.
• We are not responsible for actions taken by third-party tools using your tokens.

6. Community Templates

The Service allows you to install import templates contributed by the community. Community templates are user-contributed and are not reviewed, verified, or endorsed by SpendSeer.

• You use community templates at your own discretion.
• We make no warranties about the accuracy or suitability of community template content.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for unlawful purposes
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service
• Disrupt or interfere with the Service
• Abuse or circumvent API rate limits or usage restrictions
• Reverse engineer or copy the Service

8. Data Responsibility

You are responsible for the accuracy of the financial data you enter or upload.

We do not verify or validate user-submitted financial information.

9. Service Availability

We strive to maintain reliable uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available."

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

SpendSeer shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service.

Total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts for violation of these Terms.

You may terminate your account at any time.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the laws of Canada applicable therein.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
